If you haven’t guessed it by now, we love our furry family at Bahia Divers. Without our four-legged team members, Bahia Divers just wouldn’t be the same. They are our mascots, our security team and the heart of our operation. They embody our spirit: loyal and full of love, but not afraid to show their teeth!

Our dogs provide so many laughs and emotional support to us and the folks who visit and miss their own babies back home. Many of our clients come back to visit them and follow their adventures online via our Bahia Divers Facebook and Instagram pages. Read on to get to know them better.

Meet the Mascots

Believe it or not, this is the Mama of the pack. A true matriarch, Chida keeps everyone on their toes. There’s no greater proof that size doesn’t matter than this one. We all know who’s boss when this one’s around.

NAME: Chida Mota

BREED: Chihuahua

AGE: 7

CHILDREN: 1 (Alux)

POSITION AT BAHIA DIVERS:  La Jefa – The Boss

This beauty may look like the tough cookie around here, which is a requisite for Head of Security – but she’s actually a complete softie. She’s a jumper though, so beware! Luckily at Xpu-Ha beach there’s nothing but soft, white sand to fall on when she decides she wants a hug.

NAME: Maya Tanka

BREED: Red Nose Pitbull

AGE: 1

POSITION AT BAHIA DIVERS:  Head of Security

Last but definitely not least, this little bundle of fun has been marking her territory at Xpu Ha beach since the day she arrived. Alux is Chida’s daughter and the Bahia Divers baby, and we love watching her grow up and seeing her personality develop. And yes, she’s just as feisty as her mom.

NAME: Alux

BREED: Techichi Chihuahua

AGE: 2

POSITION AT BAHIA DIVERS: Security Deputy
